My name is Matthew Bremner, and I am a Scottish journalist and filmmaker. I have written about topics ranging from organised crime in Mexico to the Rohingya genocide. I focus on long-form features and investigations.

My work has appeared in The Economist, Rolling Stone, The Financial Times, Esquire, The Guardian, and Bloomberg Businessweek. I am a Pulitzer Center grantee.

I’m the producer and writer of the documentary film “The Cathedral”, which won Best Film at the Krakow International Film Festival in 2022 and qualified for the Oscars. I’m also the author and host of 10-part Spotify Original podcast series called “Una Vida Por Otra“, released in 2024 and nominated for the 2025 Gabriel Garcia Márquez Prize.
